Plenhyage

Italian polynucleotide (PDRN) regenerative biostimulator — designed to support the skin's own repair and renewal processes over a structured course.

What it is

Plenhyage is an Italian injectable polynucleotide (PDRN) biostimulator, offered at Klinik Amisi within the skin pillar. Its active ingredient is polydeoxyribonucleotide, a regenerative molecule often derived from salmon, used in aesthetic medicine to support the skin’s own repair and renewal processes.

Unlike standard hyaluronic acid skin boosters, Plenhyage is positioned around regenerative support — encouraging fibroblast activity and collagen and elastin synthesis — rather than direct hydration alone. It is delivered into the upper layers of the skin using fine needles.

A consultation is required before the first session. Our doctor will review your skin condition, medical history (including any allergy to fish or salmon-derived products) and goals before recommending whether Plenhyage is appropriate and how many sessions to plan.

How it works

Polynucleotide molecules in Plenhyage act as a regenerative signal for the skin. Once placed into the dermis, they may support fibroblast proliferation, the synthesis of collagen and elastin, and the skin’s natural wound-healing and repair pathways. They are also described as having a role in modulating inflammation and supporting tissue recovery.

The result for most patients is a gradual improvement in skin quality, resilience and overall texture over the course of sessions, rather than an immediate or volume-led change. Individual results vary.

What to expect

Before your treatment

Your first visit begins with a consultation. We will discuss your skin concerns, medical history, current skincare, any past injectable treatments, any allergies (including to fish or salmon-derived products), and any medications including blood thinners. To reduce the risk of bruising, we may suggest avoiding fish oil, high-dose vitamin E and similar supplements for several days before your session, where it is safe to do so.

During the session

The skin is cleansed and a topical numbing cream is usually applied for around 20 to 30 minutes. The doctor then injects Plenhyage across the planned area using small, controlled placements. Sessions typically take 30 to 45 minutes including numbing time. You may feel mild stinging or pressure during the injections.

After your treatment

You may see small bumps at the injection points immediately afterwards — this is expected and usually settles within 24 to 48 hours. Mild redness, swelling or pinpoint bruising is also possible. Avoid heavy makeup for the rest of the day, and skip strenuous exercise, saunas and very hot showers for 24 hours. Daily broad-spectrum SPF 50+ is part of the long-term plan.

Recovery and downtime

For most patients, downtime is mild. Surface bumps typically soften within a day or two, while any bruising can take a few days longer to fade. Avoid strong actives, exfoliants and facial massage for at least 48 hours, and follow your doctor’s specific aftercare advice. Improvement in skin quality builds gradually over the course of sessions and the weeks afterwards, and individual results vary.

Who is this for

Plenhyage is typically considered by adults who want a regenerative skin booster rather than a purely hydration-led one, and who are comfortable with a multi-session plan. It is often discussed for patients concerned about overall skin quality, resilience and the effects of stress or environmental factors on the skin.

You may be a candidate if you have:

  • Tired, stressed-looking skin or reduced overall resilience
  • An interest in regenerative support rather than volume change
  • A goal of supporting skin quality gradually
  • Willingness to commit to a course and follow aftercare
  • Realistic expectations about gradual, cumulative change
  • No active skin infection or contraindicating medical conditions

Considerations and contraindications

Plenhyage is generally not offered to patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have active skin infection, open wounds or cold sores in the treatment area, who have a history of severe allergic reactions to fish, salmon-derived products or any component of the formulation, or who have certain autoimmune or bleeding conditions that need medical clearance first. Recent dental work, acute illness or planned major events within a few days of the session may also lead our doctor to reschedule. Always disclose your full medical history, medications and supplements during consultation so the right product — or no treatment at all — can be recommended.

Frequently asked questions

What is Plenhyage?
Plenhyage is an Italian injectable polynucleotide (PDRN) biostimulator. Its active ingredient is polydeoxyribonucleotide, often salmon-derived, which is positioned as a regenerative signal for the skin rather than a volumising or filling agent.
How is Plenhyage different from a hyaluronic acid skin booster?
A hyaluronic acid skin booster mainly supports hydration and surface smoothness. Plenhyage works through a different mechanism — polynucleotides act as a regenerative signal, prompting fibroblasts in the skin to repair and renew over weeks. Some patients combine the two over time, sequenced by their doctor.
Is Plenhyage a filler?
No. Plenhyage is a regenerative biostimulator, not a dermal filler. It is designed to support the skin's own repair processes rather than to add volume or change facial proportions.
Is the treatment painful?
Topical numbing cream is applied before the session to keep the experience comfortable. Most patients describe mild stinging or pressure during the injections.
How quickly will I see a difference?
Polynucleotide treatments tend to act gradually as fibroblast activity is supported over weeks. Many patients describe the most noticeable change in skin quality some weeks after the third session. Individual results vary.
How many sessions will I need?
A typical course is 3 to 4 sessions spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart. Maintenance sessions are usually planned afterwards. Your doctor will recommend a specific plan based on your skin assessment.
Are there any side effects?
Common short-term effects include small bumps at injection points, mild redness, swelling or bruising. Patients with confirmed allergy to fish or salmon-derived products should disclose this at consultation. Our doctor will go through the full risk profile.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on whether you take a single session or a course. Please consult our team for current rates.
