RF V-Shape

Non-invasive radiofrequency treatment focused on the jawline and lower face contour — controlled heat to support firmness and definition over a structured course.

What it is

RF V-Shape at Klinik Amisi is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment focused on the jawline and lower face contour. It is delivered using the Thuzzle platform from GMV Medical Innovation (Italy) with handpieces and settings tailored for this area. It sits within our skin pillar as one of three related RF protocols — RF Face Lifting (broader face), RF Eye (the delicate periorbital area) and RF V-Shape (jawline and lower face contour).

The treatment is needle-free and uses controlled radiofrequency energy to gently warm the deeper layers of the skin along the lower face. It is typically chosen by patients with concerns about loss of definition along the jawline or mild to moderate lower face laxity, who prefer a non-invasive approach over surgery or threads.

A consultation is required before the first session. Our doctor will review your skin condition, medical history and goals before recommending whether RF V-Shape is appropriate, alone or in combination with the other RF protocols.

How it works

Radiofrequency energy passes through the skin and generates heat in the deeper dermal and sub-dermal layers along the lower face, typically warming tissue to around 40 to 45 degrees Celsius. Two effects follow. First, existing collagen fibres respond to the controlled heat with an immediate contraction, which can produce a subtle tightening sensation soon after the session. Second, the warming triggers the skin’s natural repair response, encouraging fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin over the following weeks and months.

The Thuzzle platform allows the clinician to switch between monopolar mode (delivering energy more deeply) and bipolar mode (working more superficially), and to adjust intensity to suit the area and your comfort. The temperature is monitored throughout the session.

What to expect

Before your treatment

Your first visit begins with a consultation. We will discuss your skin concerns, medical history, any prior aesthetic procedures (including injectables, threads or laser treatments along the lower face), current medications and skincare. Avoid strong actives such as retinoids or acid exfoliants for a couple of days before your session, and remove makeup, sunscreen and skincare on arrival so the area can be cleansed.

During the session

The skin is cleansed and a coupling gel is applied to allow the handpiece to glide across the area. The clinician moves the device in slow, repeated passes along the jawline and lower face, maintaining the target temperature for the planned duration. RF V-Shape sessions typically take around 30 to 45 minutes. Most patients describe the sensation as a comfortable, deep warmth.

After your treatment

Skin may look slightly pink and feel warm for an hour or two. Most patients can return to normal activities and apply makeup the same day if desired. Avoid very hot showers, saunas and intense exercise for the rest of the day. Daily broad-spectrum SPF 50+ is part of the long-term skincare plan.

Recovery and downtime

RF V-Shape is considered a low-downtime treatment for most patients. Mild warmth and pinkness usually settle within a few hours, and short-term sensitivity can occur for the rest of the day. Avoid heat-based activities (sauna, steam, hot yoga) and intense facial massage for 24 to 48 hours. Improvement in firmness and lower face definition builds gradually over the following months as new collagen forms, and individual results vary.

Who is this for

RF V-Shape is typically offered to adults with mild to moderate laxity along the jawline and lower face who are looking for a non-invasive way to support firmness and definition, and who are prepared to commit to a structured course and consistent maintenance.

You may be a candidate if you have:

  • Loss of definition along the jawline or under the chin
  • Mild to moderate laxity in the lower face
  • A preference for non-invasive treatment over surgery or threads
  • Willingness to follow a multi-session plan
  • Realistic expectations — RF supports firmness rather than producing facelift-level change
  • No active skin infection or contraindicating medical conditions

Considerations and contraindications

RF V-Shape is generally not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have an implanted electronic medical device such as a pacemaker, defibrillator or cochlear implant, who have active skin infection or open wounds in the treatment area, or who have certain metal implants in the treatment zone. Patients with certain autoimmune conditions, recent significant facial procedures, very photosensitive skin, or a history of keloid scarring should be assessed individually. Recent dermal fillers or thread lifts in the lower face may also affect timing or suitability. Always disclose your full medical and aesthetic history during consultation so our doctor can confirm whether this treatment is right for you.

Frequently asked questions

What is RF V-Shape?
RF V-Shape is a non-invasive treatment that uses controlled radiofrequency energy focused on the jawline and lower face contour. The heat encourages an immediate tightening response in existing collagen and supports gradual collagen and elastin renewal over the following months.
What device do you use?
RF V-Shape at Klinik Amisi is delivered using the Thuzzle radiofrequency platform from GMV Medical Innovation (Italy), with handpieces and settings tailored for the jawline and lower face contour.
How is RF V-Shape different from RF Face Lifting?
Both use the same Thuzzle radiofrequency platform but with different handpiece protocols. RF Face Lifting covers the broader face, including the cheeks and mid-face. RF V-Shape focuses specifically on the jawline and lower face contour. Many patients combine them across a course, sequenced by their doctor.
Will it remove a double chin or fat under the jaw?
RF V-Shape supports firmness and skin quality along the jawline; it is not a fat-reduction treatment. If submental fat is a primary concern, your doctor may discuss other or combination options. RF V-Shape is typically chosen for laxity-led concerns about lower face definition.
Is the treatment painful?
Most patients describe a comfortable warm sensation as the device passes over the skin. The temperature is monitored throughout and adjusted to your tolerance. Topical anaesthetic is generally not required.
How quickly will I see a difference?
Many patients notice a mild tightening sensation soon after a session. More meaningful changes in firmness and lower face definition typically build gradually over 3 to 6 months as the skin produces new collagen. Individual results vary.
How many sessions will I need?
A typical course is 5 to 8 sessions, scheduled weekly or fortnightly. Maintenance sessions are usually planned afterwards. Your doctor will recommend a specific plan based on your skin assessment.
Can I do this if I have fillers or threads?
RF treatments may not be appropriate over certain types of injectable products or threads in the lower face, depending on the material and how recent the treatment was. Always disclose any prior aesthetic work during consultation so our doctor can decide whether to proceed, defer or adjust the protocol.
