What it is
RF Tummy at Klinik Amisi is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment focused on supporting firmness on the abdomen. It is delivered using the Thuzzle platform from GMV Medical Innovation (Italy), with handpieces and settings tailored for the body. It sits within our body pillar as one of four related RF body protocols — RF Tummy, RF Thigh, RF Buttock and RF Arm — alongside our fat-reduction and body-contouring options.
The treatment is needle-free and uses controlled radiofrequency energy to gently warm the deeper layers of the abdominal skin. It is typically chosen by patients with mild to moderate laxity following pregnancy, weight loss or simply over time, who prefer a non-invasive approach.
A consultation is required before the first session so our doctor can assess the area, your medical history and any prior surgery, pregnancies or implants, and confirm whether RF Tummy is appropriate.
How it works
Radiofrequency energy is delivered through a handpiece that glides over the abdomen in a warmed gel medium. The energy heats the deeper dermal layers in a controlled way, typically warming tissue to around 40 to 45 degrees Celsius. Two effects follow. First, existing collagen fibres respond to the controlled heat with an immediate contraction, which can produce a subtle tightening sensation. Second, the warming triggers the skin’s natural repair response, encouraging fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin over the following weeks and months.
The Thuzzle platform allows the clinician to switch between deeper monopolar and more superficial bipolar modes, and to adjust intensity for your skin and comfort. The temperature is monitored throughout the session.
What to expect
Before your treatment
Your first visit begins with a consultation. We will discuss the area you want to address, medical history, any pregnancies, any prior abdominal surgery and any implants. Please come with the area clean and free of heavy moisturisers or oils. Tell us about any sensitive skin conditions or recent sun exposure.
During the session
You will lie comfortably with the abdomen exposed. Warmed coupling gel is applied and the handpiece is moved in continuous passes across the area. The clinician maintains the target temperature for the planned duration. A typical session takes 30 to 45 minutes. Most patients describe the sensation as a comfortable, deep warmth.
After your treatment
The skin may feel warm and look slightly pink for a short time. Use a gentle moisturiser, and broad-spectrum sun protection if the area is exposed. Avoid very hot showers, sauna and intense exercise for the rest of the day. You can return to most normal activities straight after the session.
Recovery and downtime
RF Tummy typically has minimal downtime. Mild warmth or pinkness usually settles within a few hours, and there are no marks or peeling. Improvement in firmness builds gradually over the months following the course as collagen activity continues, and individual results vary. Maintenance sessions are sometimes suggested afterwards.
Who is this for
RF Tummy is typically offered to adults with mild to moderate abdominal skin laxity who want a non-invasive supportive treatment, often after pregnancy, weight loss or as part of a broader body contouring plan.
You may be a candidate if you have:
- Mild to moderate skin laxity on the abdomen
- Post-pregnancy tummy skin that feels less firm than before
- Skin tone changes after weight loss
- A goal of supporting an area being treated for fat reduction
- Realistic expectations about gradual, progressive change
- No contraindicating implants or medical conditions
Considerations and contraindications
RF Tummy is generally not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have a pacemaker, defibrillator, cochlear implant or other implanted electronic medical device, who have a metal implant in the treatment area, or who have active skin infection, open wounds or recent sunburn in the area. Patients with certain skin or systemic conditions affecting healing should be assessed individually. Always inform our doctor of any medications, implants, prior abdominal surgery and medical history during consultation, so we can confirm whether this treatment is right for you.
